MKB Solicitors swap law for décor to renovate new BIADS premises

Staff at MKB recently swapped their suits for overalls to renovate new premises acquired by local charity BIADS at Holly House next door to their existing premises at Joseph Exley House on Dean Street in Barnsley.

The 1-day charitable project was carried out by MKB at BIADS new premises which will be used to house the administrative function of BIADS’ operations. This expansion will allow the charity to increase the number of activities and support sessions to its service users at their Joseph Exley House premises.

In the spirit of DIY SOS, MKB sent a team of solicitors and legal support staff to transform the premises over a day to ready the property for its new use. Crucially, this has saved BIADS valuable funds that can be utilised elsewhere for the benefit of the local community.

Ben McFeely, Employment Solicitor and Business Development Manager at MKB, said, “We chose BIADS as our Charity of the Year this year after witnessing first-hand the great work they are doing to support people with dementia and their families in our local community. We are aware of the tight budget BIADS have to work within to deliver this invaluable service and we’re delighted to be able to deliver this project for them to save on resources on top of the fundraising work we are doing throughout the year. We would urge other local businesses to get in touch with BIADS to learn more about the work they do and explore the ways in which they can support the charity.”

BIADS, Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support, is an organisation formed by Barnsley people to provide support to those who have any form of dementia and their families and friends. They are an independent group serving Barnsley and guarantee that all funds raised and donations received are used in Barnsley.

BIADS are our current charity of the year so any donations or other assistance that can be provided to this fantastic charity would be most welcome.
