A New Chapter for Christine

MKB say a fond farewell and ‘tip one’s hat’ to Christine Thornton today and wish her a very long and happy retirement.  Christine is a long standing member of the team at MKB Solicitors, having worked with us for almost 40 years!!!!

We are honoured to have had the pleasure of working with Christine as part of our MKB team (formerly Mills Kemp & Brown) from the early days with Mr Mills, Mr Kemp & Mr Brown, through all it’s changes and happenings to the firm it is today.  Christine has seen the firm change from a smaller but very well respected firm to one of the leading firms in Barnsley and epitomises what is so great about MKB … the people.

Christine began her career with MKB in November 1976, primarily working for Mr Mills and then, after a short stint with Mr Kemp settled in with Mr Brown – working her way through the letterhead and it’s Partners (so to speak!).  She stuck with Mr Brown for almost 20 years dealing mostly with conveyancing and company work where she gained a wealth of experience and knowledge.  Clients who have had the pleasure of dealing with Christine have commented on the lovely, kind and caring lady she is … always happy to assist clients and go that extra mile”.

Christine said “It’s been a hard and stressful job at times but has also a pleasurable one, basically due to the amazing people I have worked with over the years.  We have seen each other through many life events, good and bad, but always pulled each other through.  I will miss seeing the people at MKB everyday, but have made some great friends who will stay with me forever and look forward to some ‘me’ time enjoying the things I love”.

You will be greatly missed at MKB Christine, particularly your zest for life and hearing that fabulous laugh at 1-11 Huddersfield Road – question is who will be the first on the dance floor now at office parties???

Best of luck from your MKB family.
